Google specific Chrome operating system almost ready to go?

TechCrunch is reporting that Google's very own operating system--Chrome--is almost ready to be released. This is good news for the touch enabled Apple community because if there is one company that can produce useful, efficient pretty products like Apple its Google.

A Google Chrome operating system will bring a third reliable competitor to the Operating System marketplace dominated by Apple and Microsoft. But unlike operating systems provided by the former, Google Chrome will likely be FREE--making it a cost friendly alternative. Plus, unlike the free Linux, going Google doesn't make you seem cheap and dirty--free Google products such as gMail have almost become the industry standard.

So what does this mean for the touch enabled Apple community? Well it just might mean that we might start seeing improvements in Google's other mobile operating system--Android, or a fuller touch interface enable operating system available as a Google Chrome OS. The fuller offering might make for some interesting hacks on the yet unreleased Apple tablet. A better Android mobile operating system can like-wise eventually be installed on the iPod touch/iPhone, but it is more likely that simply with more competition there will be more innovation--making us all winners in the end. Put simply, while this move by Google simply wont play nice with Apple, it will likely get a motivational fire started in Apple's R&D department...burn baby burn.
