New Google layout hints at touch interface

After enabling the the new Google experimental interface many have noticed that the larger buttons seem designed to accommodate touch interfaces. If this is the case, Google may be becoming more compatible with touch enabled desktop computers such as the eeeTop or the HP Touchsmart. Moreover, the non-mobile Google page will be much easier to use with the current touch based Apple products as well as the future iTablet. By touch enabling their products Google can get ahead of typical Apple shenanigans by providing web-based touch-enabled Google applications that do not have to be approved by Apple of whatever service provider is in charge.

To enable the new interface for yourself simply head over to google.com and then type <javascript:void(document.cookie=”PREF=ID=20b6e4c2f44943bb:U=4bf292d46faad806:TM=1249677602:LM=1257919388:S=odm0Ys-53ZueXfZG;path=/; domain=.google.com”);>
into the URL bar without the <>.
